Lice

I saw that you can use DE for lice. Is it the kind for pools? how do you apply it? Your not suppose to inhale that stuff. Does it work?

NOT the stuff for pools...food grade only. Yes it has worked for me in the past. This year I did use a chemical also because they were so bad. I always dust the bedding, pens, chicken coop with it. I dust my cats. I rub it into the goats back and down their legs. I usually do their legs when I have them tied for a hoof trim. It's impossible not to inhale, just don't stick your head in the bag and breath

If I need something stronger I use Cylence or Lice no More. The Lice No More you can get at TSC but the Cylence I order from Jeffers.

I do have the DE & also use it to dust the bedding areas for the goats & also my duck house.

I usually search the internet for the best price. Sometimes I get it from Hoeggers goat supply.

I found DE is good for 'prevention', not always a cure, if used often.
I also found a side effect, it dries the skin and coat.

I stopped using it.
Now I treat with chemicals if need be.

I use Cylence as well if there is an issue...there is no withdrawal time on it so it's not a very harsh chemical cocktail
