SpringValley, I understand that you would advise folks to use fresh milk. While you have free access to it because you have Jersey cows, that's not necessarily the case for the rest of the world.
For my kids, I am using whole cow's milk from the store to supplement the doe's milk. Don't have anyone local who's selling raw, and even if they were, don't know that I'd trust them.
Sure, the optimal would be fresh milk, but we don't live in the best of all possible worlds.
I grew up on store-bought milk, and so did my children. Would it have been better to have fresh milk? Sure. But it's not possible for everyone, and yet, we all still seem to get along.
