Here's Brownie, looking "today's the day."

Yesterday DH and I took a little walk. I looked over into the goat field about 4:30 and saw Silda, Brownie's twin, looking like this.

About three hours later, after much effort on her part, and a little help from me, she produced one BIG, beautiful buck kid.

This photo is for comparison. The new buck, just born, in next to one of the twins, born two days earlier. This boy was NOT easy to get out. Silda's going to be sore for a few days.

DD is calling the buck, Flash, the brown doeling, Maggie, and the black one, Beauty. It doesn't matter much, because they are on bottles, and will hopefully be sold in another week or so, in plenty of time to get used to whatever names the new owners want to give them.
