Question To show or not to show

I have a buckling and a doeling that will be over 4 months old by the dairy show next month. I'm thinking about taking them, but can't make up my mind. They have very nice bloodlines, especially on the sires side - son of SG Goldthwaite Othello. The buckling is being raised to be my next herdsire as his sire died a couple months ago. By the time of the show, they will have had 2 sets of CD&T.

Opinions? Suggestions?

Never mind! I just read the rules. He would have to be wethered in order to attend!! I don't understand that! It's an ADGA show! You would think that bucks could be shown. Oh well.

Wethers can't show in ADGA shows, as far as I know. They can be on the premises as a companion to a doe, if wethered. Only certain shows have buck shows, if proper facilities for keeping bucks separate are available. Many people worry about a buck getting in with and breeding someone else's does.

We are taking 7 kids, 2 milkers and a buck to a show in 12 days. The kids will be 6 weeks old and a bit older, 2 of them bucks.
