Talking New Lamancha doe!

Brought this beauty home today! She (Frosty) is about 3 years old, has been milking for the last 18 months and has a sweet personality to boot!
Frosty is BIG! She stands at least three inches higher than my (tall) mini-Nubian wether, and he is the size of your run of the mill Nubian doe.
Can't wait to milk her tonight!

Oh, and if you wanted to critique her, I wouldn't mind in the least bit!

I know this is a strange thing to comment on, but is it normal for a doe to have a beard? I never saw that before. She is a nice looking doe.

Yes it is normal for a doe to grow a beard. We have a doe who just turned a year with a nice goatee...(he he couldn't help myself).

Frosty looks like a nice doe! And 18 months? WOW!

Yes, for fair goats need to be fully shaved just a couple days before you take them in. That means all long hairs - most people do the eyelashes/muzzle hairs, too. Me, I think the long pretty eyelashes and beards are purty.

She looks like a nice doe.

Miss Menagerie, That is a very nice looking doe - straight with lots of dairy character (tall and clean). Her teat size is neither too big nor too little. She also looks healthy with a shiny coat of hair.
Hardworkingwoman: All of my female Alpines have beards by the time of first kidding. I am not sure if it is just age or the hormones of pregnancy that cause the beard to grow.

She's really lovely. I wouldn't mind having her in my herd at all. Thank you for posting a photo of her. Wishing you many happy milkings with Frosty!

I miss having girl goats with beards I like her topline, especially, and how long her body is

From that picture, I'd say I'd be pleased to have her in my barn. She is beautiful.
