I saw the worms. What should I use to deworm?

Just checked my three does due any time and on my older nubian I saw worms. All around the anus. Tiny white thin. Pin worms? I have been using ivermectin paste for horses on them and they were dosed about one month ago. What do I use this time? I have two babies about 15 lbs, lamb about the same size the three does around 125 lbs. And the llama and bottle calf are in the same pen at night. Is there something I can use on everyone? Thanks

Never heard of pin worms in goas before..perhaps you could take a sample to a vet and find out for sure what it is and what to give..Good Luck and let us know what you find out..

Maybe tape worms? The only time I actually see worms it is tapes. You can use Valbazen (if not pregnant) or safeguard/panacur for tapes.

Valbazen can be used on goats, cattle, & sheep but I am not sure about the llama??

These would be tape worms. You can worm with Valbazen or Safeguard/Panacur for tape worms. I believe you shouldn't use the Valbazen on the pregnant does though.

Very small thing 1/4 inch maybe 1/2. Waving back and forth. This is the first time I have seen this in the goats and I have been out checking at night for weeks. Yuck!

Same here - definitely not tapes - looked like pin worms that my horses had a long time ago. Cydectin took care of my goats. You might want to have a fecal done. Mine also had a bad case of cocci at the same time.

tapeworm secments are very distinctive things that are thicker and movement is different. they can look like a ricecorn when they move.
this worm we think looks like pinworm is very thin like a little thread.
if you put it under the microscope, you will see the worm releasing lots of eggs during movement. i took me some time to figure out that this is a kind of pin worm. very common in humans and also called seat worm but don't think it is the same.

I agree, the little, itty bitty tiny wigglers are not the average tapeworm. I would see them actually on and around the goats anus. They are literally thread thin. I'm not sure what they are, but Valbazen cleared them out of my few does that had them. Cydectin and Ivomec did not. Valbazen is what I use for any visible worms.

I did a little research online and ordered some ivomec and some valbazen (I know I can't give valbazen when pregnant) I will dose with Ivomec. And when she kids I will use the other. If anyone else has ideas throw them my way. Thanks!

Ask your vet or order it from Jeffers.

I only used Valbazen to get rid of those itty bitty white worms in my adult does once many years ago. Have never had a need to use it on my adults before or after. At the time, I fed the milk to my calves(who needed it anyway) for 21 days, just to be safe.
In my usual herd management, I only use Valbazen on kids.

I'm wondering if the hormones put them on the move? I saw worms last night and she is in labor today. Long stringy mucus. Much different than the stuff I've been watching this week. Put her in the barn and put clean bedding down she is munching hay and I'm waiting for the hubby to get home so I can leave the kids inside and go out to the barn and wait. I'm hoping for does!
