Dehorning a 3 month old?

I just got a nigerian buckling that was born on Christmas. The previous owners did not have him disbudded. The horns are about an inch and a half long. What options do I have at his age? Does the rubber band method work well? Will he need a tetanus shot no matter what method I go with? I guess I could just leave his horns on him (they do look really cool) since he won't be living with the rest of my hornless herd anyways. But I'd worry that he might get his head caught in a fence or something. Thanks.

I'd personally leave them be, especially since he is a small breed of goat.

That is one that I would say ask a vet about.
I have re-done kids at that age, where it was not done properly the first time, and I have been very successful with that.
But
There may already be opeings into the sinus cavity, which would mean that he would have a hole or two in his head for a while until it healed over. I had a saanen doe that we bought, had to have the vet re-do her horns, and they super-glued a gauze thing over the hole. The saanen kid did just fine with it, big beautiful doe now.

The breed and size of the horn base have a lot to do with timing for dis-budding. I am not familiar with nigi horns, sorry.
