Question What are the laws for different states on the sale of milk?

Another thread just peaked my interest. Not that I'm about to be able to sell milk, Milkyway's high day is 10.4 onces, but you know! I might get a few more goats. Maybe even full size dairy goats. It could happen. Seems to happen around here (ht) a lot! Is there a site that I could look up my states laws? I know I wouldn't be the only one interested in this.

www.realmilk.com has the laws on each state and also where in each state you can find raw milk, either way.

Thank you so much.

Now I have to find out what this means... "The sale of raw milk for animal consumption is legal if the distributor is licensed under the commercial feed laws."

We may have something similar here in Ohio.
Raw goat milk can be sold for animal feed without a license......as long as it is properly labeled.
Raw cow milk cannot be sold as animal feed.

You probably need to contact the State Department of Agriculture.

What it means is that in Georgia you may sell raw milk with a feed license as long as you have a label that states the contents (they will give you an official breakdown of milk components), and contains the statement "Not For Human Consumption" in letters larger than any other letters on the label. You can get copies of other people's labels from members of the Georgia Dairy Goat Breeders Association.

Edit: I believe there is a $50 annual fee for the license to sell milk for animal consumption in the State of Georgia.

Thank you very much! That is very helpful. We had a high day today of 11oz, so I guess I will not be in a hurry for selling just yet. But one day....
