Buck smell in Cow milk

I am purchasing a jersey cow in a few days. She will be in with my herd of goats. Has anyone heard of buck smell getting into cow milk? Thanks, Erin

The only way that I can imagine that happening is if you rub your buck on the cow's udder and then don't wash it or don't use sanitary milking practices.

I never know what I`m going to read on here, as far as I know I don`t think so, but I have never had to worry about this problem. Most of the bucks I have had don`t stink, and I never let them run with the cows either. Thanks Marc.

Yes, the visual of picking up a 150-200lb buck and rubbing him on the cow is hilarious. He doesn't really stink much right now but in the fall when I put him back with the does for breeding I didn't know if it would matter. I only have the one cow and she will be with the goats, so right now that includes the buck.
