Goat fence setup

Hi all,

Getting ready to setup a goat pasture area and need advice on how deep "T" posts should be, and what distance between "T" posts each have to be.

Also would 47" goat fence plus two strands barbwire be a good option to use?
Anyone have pics of your goat sheds/barn you would like to share?

Thx

Daniel

This has good info... http://fixedknot.com/build/
and this http://www.bekaertfence.com/products...ationGuide.pdf
Hope it helps

I have 47in fencing with no barbed wire and that works...they do tend to rub against the fence.

Are you fencing pasture or browse? Goats can get worms bad from grass.

Skip the barbed wire! Owie! If you want to keep them from rubbing on the fence then put up electrical.

I second that. You can also use the fence as part of the grounding.

Thx all for you advice.

Mylala, the first link is very good indeed. Thx.

I will be fencing pasture. I will also have Dexters at some point too and maybe some sheep, so need a multifunctional fence. From what we have seen, goats require the best fence so I thought of them first.

Thx Daniel

So you have meat goats? Dairy goats don't require such extravagant fencing as meat goats.
