Mosquitoes

Do mosquitoes bother goats. And does anyone have a good repellant for mosquitoes for people, cats, dogs and goats?
We live close to a river and these dreadful things take a lot of enjoyment out of the outdoors. They really bother me, but I don't want them to make my goats sick.
Thank you.

Yes they do pester goats. Mine are constantly flinching and kicking at themselves when the skeets are bad.

I mix avon's Skin so Soft with water in a spray bottle & spray my goats when the mosquitos & flies are bad. I've used it on my rabbits too. It helps but you have to do it every so often.

Nick's uncle has a gorgeous place on the Mississippi River, but WOW! the mosquitoes are unbelievably aggressive and evil there!

I know that they spray some sort of anti-mosquito chemical into the trees/bushes/etc, and that they make sure they have no standing water on their property. It helps a bit.

I like the Skin So Soft idea.

Wonder if those parasitic wasps that you can use for flies in the barn eat mosquitoes? How about building some martin and bat houses?

Good luck. Mosquitoes are such nasty little bloodsuckers...
