So do folks drink raw milk from their own goats?
I plan to drink fresh goats milk in my coffee. Am I the only nut dare devil who wants to consume raw milk? That is why I wanted a goat. To have a source of milk.

Goodness no, you aren't the only one. We wouldn't have it any other way but raw. Why mess with perfection?

I drink mine raw! I've done a lot better since I stopped using "messed around with" milk. So have my 2 children.

I drink it, cook with it, make cheese with it and my 7 month old great nephew drinks it. I can't wait to have some in my fridge!

I am glad you posted this. I am wondering how typical it is of homesteaders. I have
no raw milk experience, and our first Nubian is just now in milk. Our Jersey will be bred in the fall, I hope. . .

I would bet that most of us on this forum with dairy goats drink the milk raw. Maybe that's a wrong assumption but I don't think so. I love our raw milk.

Yes we do, and we love it! We prefer raw goat milk to raw cow's milk.

We drink it raw. I can only drink raw goats milk (all pasteurized foods give me trouble and allergic plus lactose intolerant to cows LOL) Raw goats milk saves me

I'm pregnant and the only reason I'm not drinking raw right now is because the goats haven't kidded yet! Even my fairly conventional birthing center said that milk from your own animal is likely to be the safest source - safer than grocery store pasteurized milk.

Why would one have dairy animals if they didn't plan on drinking the milk. I love my goats milk. I can't drink it straight from the goat but once its nice and cold, its delicious.

Eons ago I pasturized. YUCK!! It never lasted more than about 3 days but could have been at the time I had a fridge that was a piece of carp.
Nowadays the raw lasts about 9 days.
