she did it!

At 4 weeks fresh my mutt doe gave me 8.06 lbs of milk yesterday morning.

Her great grandmother was nubian/alpine. She was the 13 year old that recently died. Her great grandfather was a massive 275lb boer. The males have all been from this bloodline so I guess she is nubian/alpine/boer

Please, please for give me for asking this oh so "newbian" question - but why is milk measured in lbs? Why not liters or gallons or measurement for liquid? This seems so utterly strange to me.

Milk tends to foam and thus not giving an accurate measurement. Also I am not using any machinery to measure or fill my containers so i do not know in the gallon container exactly where the gallon mark is. Weighing is constant, i always know down to the 100th of a lb if i wish.
