Too inbred??

I have a buck and doe that are not only half brother and sister but their grandfather is the same buck on the sire AND dam's side . I wasn't planning on breeding them but had to. Both the buck and doe seem good conformationally to me (but I'm new at this). The doe will be a first freshener, so I'm not sure on milking ability ect. My question is would it be okay to keep a doeling from this breeding or might she have health problems or two heads or something? Should I just make the kids into goat burger? What would you do? Thanks!

Assess the kids for any outright malformations like parrot mouth or cleft pallet. If the doelings are just backyard milkers then as long as they are happy and producing milk, then this breeding is fine. If they are registered and you show, then you would have to look them over and compare to the standard for the breed. No need to make the kids into burger based upon on this breeding

I agree with Feral Nature. You are likely to get the best and worst of the genetics that they carry.
See what you get.

That reminds me of Bluebell Ice cream's commercial on TV "We eat what we can and sell the rest"...well, on our farm, "we sell what we can and eat the rest"...just kidding

If the doeling is healthy, she should be fine to keep and breed, so long as you find a different buck to use. I have a doeling this year who is the product of a father daughter breeding because he was the only LM buck available. I'll either need to locate a different LM buck or breed the doeling to my Nubian buck this fall. Dam has a lovely udder, so I'm sure this little doe will as well.
