Question about triplets

Is it possible for a Mom to handle triplets or should I just pull one and bottle it?
I should know this but I don't think we dealt with triplets before.

We got colostrum in all of them but one had to take it from the bottle.

I would think that mama should be able to handle all 3. You will need to give her a little extra feed and watch the kids to make sure all are getting what they need.

They can handle it. I feel their little tummies to make sure they have eaten or watch and see that they are each getting a turn. If one seems a bit smaller or pushed away you can supplement a bottle here and there. I have a had 2 moms raise their triplets well. I also am raising a set of triplets on the bottle due to teat injury and the does stupidity

I have a Mini-Mancha with trips who is raising them AND giving us milk for the house. HUGE udder. I had to start milking her to prevent damage.

Hi Concrete Cowboy,
Both my Nannies had triplets this year! I did give extra bottles of milk a few times, but now they are all doing wonderful. I am weighing them all to keep a close eye on them. What a riot they are, 6 bundles of energy!
I didn't milk for "us" yet as I wanted to be sure they are all growing, and since they are, next week I'll start milking as their udders are nice and full!
blessings, Tamar

Nutmeg had triplets her first year. Despite my fumbling attempts at goat management, she produced plenty of milk for all three. But, I found that one triplet was always being pushed away from the teats. As soon as she tried to feed, the other two dived in and nosed her out the way. And of course they quickly became hulking great big goats, and she started to fall behind. And then she didn't stand a chance LOL. So I just used to milk Nutmeg into a bucket and bucket feed Brownie. So, there was plenty of milk, it was just a question of making sure they all got their fair share.

Have fun and enjoy

Libby is raising triplets without much trouble, she only has 1 cup a day for us and I feed her well. Her udder is a bit rough looking with some teeth marks but she handles that herself by lying down on the kids when they get too rough with her. Just keep an eye on the kids to make sure they are growing the same rate.
