Geep!
Wow! I've heard this can happen....but it happened to us! We have a 9 year old nubian/boer cross who was a 4-H animal, but our daughters moved on to sheep. The goat is just hanging around being a pet basically, and living out her days with our herd of sheep. She hasn't been bred (we thought!) for 6 years. No billy for miles, but she gave birth (prematurely) to a stillborn.....alien! Our ram (the goat hangs out with the sheep) aparently is the father! Yikes! I don't know why this just now happened, when we've had this same ram for 5 years! This really shouldn't happen, as they are totally different species, with different numbers of chromosomes from each other.
I've seen a picture online of a surviving geep (goat + sheep = geep), however, this was a ewe (sheep) crossed with a billy goat.
I decided to call our oddity a klamb (kid + lamb)!
You never know!!!!
