No more milk!

I've dried up our doe in anticipation for her kidding in May.....so no more milk!

Technically, I'd been saving about 8 oz. of milk per day for about a month & freezing it.....but it's for the baby (mine, not the goat).

So, how bad of a mother would I be if I "stole" a bit of the baby's milk to put into my tea in the mornings???? I'm REALLY going to miss fresh milk......maybe next year I'll breed so the does are freshened at different times so I can enjoy my glass of milk every day.

We haven't bought store milk in year, so I'm not going to start again. Maybe I can put the word out that there's a milk-junkie in the area & see if anyone around here is selling fresh milk.

Sigh......

Oh, I know what you mean when there's no milk to be had out in the barn! When is your baby due? Will you. . . ahem . .. . "freshen" before the doe does?

I've already freshened (love that !!!), my kid turned a year old on the 19th of this month.....but I still like to mix her cereal with goat milk or give it to her as her drink between meals......and Momma loves it in her morning tea & mixed with Ovaltine as a midnight snack!

I feel your pain! I dried mine off about a month ago for her to freshen next month. I didn't freeze nearly enough to last but we go through a lot of milk so broke down and bought some. GROSS!!!! Store milk is awful. I have a FF ND doe due tomorrow (see signature photo) but she won't have enough milk for me to steal other than little teaser sips.
I don't think you'd be a bad mother if you just steal a little bit. LOL!!
