Talking Finally, signs that she might decide to kid!

I've been watching my little doe, Milkyway, like a hawk for almost a month. I don't have a breeding date. The lady I bought her from didn't know. Her buck runs with her does. March 5 is the last date I figured she could kid, because that is 5 months from when I brought her home.

But this afternoon she is pawing and laying down and getting up. No goo yet. I know from reading everybody's posts that March 5 might still be the day she kids, and shes just stringing me along. Goats code and all that.

I've been reading about everyones kids and looking at every ones photos, and I'm so envious! I want a baby!(goat that is) :biggrin

At least she waited until after all the below freezing weather was over.

I'm off to take pre-pre-labor video of her :biggrin!

I hope it's soon! We have a couple of weeks left and I'm getting anxious! My doe that's due doesn't really look pregnant (never has), so I'm hoping that she is! She gave birth last year about 6 weeks before I thought she would be do...I had no idea she was that far along LOL

Sounds like it will be soon too. Especially since she's been at your farm almost 5 months now, she can't wait for ever!

Don't forget pictures! Wormer for momma the day of kidding & again 10 days later & iodine to dip baby kids navals!
I'm so excited for you & jealous too, I still have over a month for my 1st one to go!

Still no baby, but my little Milkyway is very affectionate! She left her feed this morning to come to me for excessive petting. I petted and scratcher her for about 20 minutes and then told her I had to go do other chores. She watched me leave.

She has been squatting to pee a lot, without peeing very much. (Don't let all the technical jargon throw you! ) She has also done a couple of funny flat back stretches. So I assume she is going to continue to string me along for another day. But I'm going to check her every couple of hours anyway. I can't seem to help myself! I think I might be addicted!

She looks like she lost a couple pounds behind her hip bone! Her parts are swollen and all she want is me to scratch behind her ears and on both sides of her neck, constantly! But she gobbled her dinner down, so I don't know! I'm about to go check again.
