Put in my offer...

I put in my offer for the Lamancha doe I'm dying to own with one of her kids as a wether. Wish me luck! I canNOT wait to hear from them!

She's registered-- I don't know her name, but I think I'm going to call her Dulce because she's the color of Dulce de Leche...

Her ad:

Wish me luck!

Do you think she wasn't wormed post-kidding? I just had that thought... What's the best way to feed her without foundering her?

How old is she? That can affect the price of a doe as well.

If you want to know if she has been wormed, rec'd vaccintations, etc - just ask the owner! LOL (Many would worm her when she arrived at their house anyway, but it doesn't hurt to try to get a full history on the goat.)

P.S. Is she milk stand trained?

The ad person seems to know how to place an ad, indicating "goat knowledge." She looks nice from the pix, and not underfed: just over milked by the kids. BUT THAT is good. If I were you, I'd ask for her ADGA id and go online to see her birth date PB or Am. and her lines. She is beautiful to me - and the price is great.

You may want to milk her before you buy her, to see how she milks. A nice looking udder can still have had problems and not produce. DON'T LEAVE with her without her papers in YOUR hand.

The owner, goats, and papers are all coming to me-- Sierra Vista is a good distance away. I'm getting both goats and the shipping for $200. I know there's risk involved with that-- but I do know this girl's lines. She's an Altrece LaMancha, like my little mini-mancha I owned last year. I'm getting the id information etc. I am not going to get the papers on the wether, though I could. He's going to be a pet, at least for now. If my boys end up wanting to do 4-H I'll find a good buck for her.

In the meantime, this is a great way for me to have access to milk. Once they are here my 'homestead' will be complete-- gardens, chickens, muscovies, and goats...
