What meds are used most?

I am trying to put together a med kit for my goats, I have LA200, cotton balls, spray Iodine, antibiotic/pain reliever salve, thermometer ...
Sugar and Gypsy still seem to be doing fine after the attack the lacerations are healing well no sign of infection I really need to shave the area's but the weather has not been helpful.
And I have noticed now Cletus has developed a cough...should I give him a shot of antibiotics? I know it has a lot to do with the weather it has been cold-warm-snow-wet and foggy
so want to get what is used most often for goats before getting the other not so often used, have just in case stuff...
Fiasco farm talks more of herbal remedies which I wouldnt mind trying as long as they would really work. So if anyone has had hands on experience with the herbal remedies their input would be a plus.

If it is a cough due to weather I would leave him alone, just make sure he is eating, drinking peeing and etc fine. Even when mine get runny noses due to the cold I do not give htem anything unless it looks green and they stop their normal behavior.
I also keep Biomycin, Vitamin B/Thamine, CD&T ( regular) I try to keep the Anti-Toxin as well. Penn G, Pepto Bismol, Tums, baking soda, charcoal. That is all I can think of off the top of my head without checking

I might be wrong but the charcoal used to vomit?
Biomycin antibiotic?
VitB/Thamine immune booster?

is the Bar-Vac CD/T ok? -Cl. Perfringens, Types C & D Tetanus Toxoid
(Boehringer) Vaccine for immunizing sheep, goats & cattle against tetanus & overeating disease caused by Cl. Perfringens & Types C & D Tetanus Toxoid.
its not a vaccine or is it? how often should it be given?
Pen G is something that was used in the clinic as well. good generic antibiotic...thinking maybe I should have gotten something different than the LA200 ... oh and found out that a 20 gauge needle not so good on goats their skin is tuffer than I thought!! Maybe 18 gauge would be better (bigger the number the smaller the needle)
Pepto, tums, baking soda = tummy ache relief...
Thanks thai good list to start with.

I think the #1 thing to have one hand is banamine. A goat in pain rarely does well. Banamine will smooth the gut (a bottle baby that's just not really wanting their bottle at one.. a touch of banamine and the next bottle is usually guzzled down) it takes down fever, swelling, of course pain (it works quickly)... I keep a BIG bottle at all times. I use it for the goats, the donkeys, the sheep, the pig, even the dogs (have a friend who uses it on himself LOL.. I haven't gotten to that point yet.. but might hehehe) Shop around for pricing (yes, it's a vet product) I just go in and tell them what I need. I get the 250ml bottle costs me $40 something. My other two top of the list go-to-haves are a GOOD (as in prescription) antibiotic .. I personally use Nuflor the most. I ALWAYS have a bottle of CD ANTITOXIN (not vaccine) in my fridge at all times. (((I rarely need it, but when I do.. it's a need it NOW item))) I buy a new one each year, when my new bottle comes I will always give my older bottle (still in date & good, many times it's a never opened bottle) to one of my homesteader type families who have bought kids from me that year... It's a little pricey but so important, I get peace of mind, knowing my babies will have it available in their new home. I keep tons of other things in my drug cabinet, but those 3 are the ones that I would never let run out.
(((when it's kidding season, I also keep a bottle of injectable CMPK (or Norcalciphos) on hand.. because with my luck.. if we happen to have a doe begin to show signs of milk fever.. it'll be the middle of the night on a weekend LOL)))
(oh.. syringes/needle.. I keep a supply of 12cc & 3 cc syringes... 18 gauge & 22 gauge needles. I order them by the box. I **NEVER** needle share. Even after years of CAE neg. tests.. It's just not something I would ever do. Everyone gets a new, clean needle--everytime)

Hmmm Banamine wonder if I can find a vet that will do that for me...definitely sounds like I need to add that to my medicine tool kit. Nearest goat vet is 35 miles from me (sigh).

I do not care for LA200, it stings like a booger and I never had need for it, I use the Biomycin or PennG before I would use the LA and if it is like the rattles or whatnot and I need something better I go to the vet and get Naxcel or Nuflor.
Biomycin- Antibiotic
Charcoal- to absorb anything bad they might have eaten.
Tums- for calcium
Pepto and baking soda for upset stomachs
Bloat Release
I prefer to use Colorado Serum's CD&Toxiod and no not because I am in CO Bar-Vac has left my goats with some pretty nasty lumps at the injection site even if I do rub it for a min.
I use 20 gauge needles 1/2 inch long. The only tough skin I run into is on the bucks. I too never needle share, so I have lots of syringes and needles on hand. Syringes (needless) are also good to dispense the Pepto, and etc.
I also keep Furzall powered spray for any wounds, as well as Blood Stop powder, Iodine to dip cords, gloves, KY jelly.
I really should just look lol instead of trying to remember stuff from memory. I am too tired to do so.
I wonder if my vet would give me banamine? He take one look at the bags under my eyes and how harried I am and think I want it for myself, lol!

Any vet that sees a lot of equines will have it (and more then likely sell it to you) It's a non-narcotic pain killer.. so, it shouldn't be too hard to get (the 100cc bottle runs me $24 I think)

Banamine and Ammonium Chloride are the 2 items I see most that people need fast and don't have.

Epinephrine. It's a prescription but cheap and if you need it, there is no waiting time. Anytime I see a vet, I take a list of the drugs I want.
