Disbudding time?

The man who was recommended to us to disbud our kids said he'd wait until about 7 days old for Kinder kids, but maybe a tad sooner for the buckling - of course, he said feel for buds and such, but does 7 days as a standard time seem too long to wait for Kinders? I know our Pygmy doelings didn't have buds until at least 7 days, but these are crossed, so I'm not sure.
