End of the road trip

ok got home finally and put the 2 new arrivals in their pens. Since Inga wasnt kept in with Amron they went in seperate pens...man o man did they hollar for a while especially Inga when I went inside, she just stood their looking lonely. And Amron appeared confused as to what a dog igloo was for he went around it, on it but not in it...I hope he doesnt get cold tonight.

Cute goats, they'll settle in soon just give them a few days. Are they Nigerian dwarf goats.
Did you get vacination & worming dates, etc. from the breeder?
Might be a good idea to worm them since you just bought them & the stress fm the travel, new place and all?

She had wormed them a month ago, Inga's due date is June 15th and they are both Nigerian
Inga was bred to a blue eyed/polled buck same one she was bred to before and she produced twins both blue eyed and polled. So really excited.
Inga is the only one that seems upset about the move, the 5 month old buck Amron has settled into his pen well. Though I dont feel he has had alot of hands on he is very people shy.

Worm them anyways. I always worm them whenever I bring them into my home. I always do that. It is like insurance for me..

The main reason I worm while under quaranteen is to limit the "new" worms exposed to my pastures. I worm minimum 2x before I even think of putting them out with my goats/pasture. Resistance to worms varies from farm to farm, and I wouldn't want any resistant worms building the iresistance on my pastures too quickly.

Day 2 of the new arrivals and Inga still screams at me, both Sugarbaby and Gypsy try to ram her, and Cletus has gone nuts breaking out of his pen trying to get to her everytime she screams I am not saying naaaaa I am saying she has a scream at the end of it. None of my other goats ever sounded like that. Anyone else have a screamer? Oh and Gypsy went up and over the wire to get to the little buck his head is a little bloody so he is now in the house. Inga is in a separate pen put taller wire up so no one can go up and over. And I missed work today cause I was sick LOL...I might let the little buck out in the dog area during the day safer for him I think, at least with them being penned up I can get some hands on working with them. Don't know if I will ever be able to let Inga out with my other girls, my girls act like they dont like her at all, maybe that normal but since Inga is pregnant I dont want her hurt.
