Ages Ago Acres Jan. baby pics

Jan. kidding ended last night with the birth of BIG triplets, out of Edith.. (I only bred about half the does this year- my daughter is getting married in Oct- with the *worker bee* moving on.. MOM has decided to take a lot of mini vacations this year.. something had to give.. it was sadly, goat babies--- I have nine does due in March and that's IT.. so odd to have so few.. BUT.. NICE too. It's giving me time to love on & enjoy each & everyone of them.. taking my time to decide who I just HAVE to keep and who I can force myself to let go of

Edith's triplets (2 boys & a girl) born last night (about 30 mins. old in these pics.. they are all three BIG, old styled nubians.. great heads, low set thick, big bell ears.. long & wide in the body.. couldn't be happier - This is a mix of a No-Doubt doe with a son of Amberwood Jedi's Winter Frost (his dam is a Cream-Of-Kansas' doe that did really well at the KY nationals)
blue doeling that I'm letting myself keep

Big ol' spotted boy.. of course you can't really see his spots in this pic.

you'll have to excuse the scrap wood pile (in the middle of an add-on)
the big brown girl is Dirty Deeds (he's CrownHill, Copper-Hill & Sunday Creek)
Ella (mom is a Brown Sugar Double Dip daughter (crown ambasador bred back to his dam & a Crown-Hill X No-doubt buck).. the black & tan guy is one of Carla's twin bucks.. (lot's of Cream-of-Kansas')

ar_wildflower.. I too like black & tan (I like the look of really long, copper eyebrows.. but my favorite color is black & silver without hardly any copper.. then blue would be my next favorite to look at.. BUT.. I end up keeping more brown doelings out as keepers for myself, then any other color..go figure LOL)

took a picture that shows the new guy's spot off...

Okay, Susie: Are there any doelings you're NOT keeping?

I fell in love with that little black and white girl in the first pics.

Nick just said to me, "We have three goats."

Ah, but we only have one girl. One buckling. One wether.

Need more pretty girls to breed, b/c it's obviously not a good idea to keep all my eggs in one basket.

LOL... three isn't ENOUGH!!! you need at least 5 or 6 LOL.. So far I've allowed myself the black & white girl (isn't see a cutie?) and the blue girl (I kept an Edith daughter last year.. of course that's the only kid I lost to entro ... so I was really excited that Edith let me have another try this year) I'm LOVING the kids sired by my jr. buck Journey.. I'm getting all sorts of colors from him.. I'm going to venture a guess that there will be at least some nicely colored-up little girls from the does due in March.. at this point the little brown girl (who, while she doesn't have spots herself.. she carries LOTS of spots and should have spotted babies) she's for sale. Edith's little black & tan with the frosted ears is for sale and MAYBE.. the spotted one too. If I do keep him, I'll not keep the black & tan buckling out of Carla.. but I want to keep the black & tan one out of Carla LOL... but the spotted one out of Edith is really nice... I'm driving myself a bit looney trying to make up my mind.. so I've decided to just enjoy the babies for a few days and then think about it some more

Looking at all those pretty babies, now I don't know if I want the "moon and stars" coloring. I'm probably just stuck on what does are "supposed" to look like, b/c I think Trub is the prettiest doe in the world, and any time I see kids, I tend to gravitate toward the black and whites.

Your kids are beautiful. Love those classic Nubians!
