Goat Spa Day

Goat Spa Day is when we put everyone in the milk stand, trim their feet, worm if needed, force any supplements if needed, and do a general check up pinch and pull on everybody. We try to do Goat Spa day every month. It works out to more like every 6 weeks (at the one month mark we start reminding each other it's time for Goat Spa day and usually in a week or two we actually get around to do it!) We only have 7 goats~ but Goat Spa Day usually turns into half a day spent chasing and torturing goats anyway!

Well~ it's time for Goat Spa Day. But several of the girls are pregnant and I think close. I don't have due dates~ but at least 4 of them are looking large and building bags. Reading here I see that "Close" could be a month or more away though! So~ do I do Goat Spa Day or hold off for kids?

But what do the goats think of their spa day? Chances seem slim that they regard it the same way that a human would regard a spa day of their own....

Maybe do a spa day on the ones that arent expecting soon now, and wait for kids to come before you spa the others? Then just continue with the spa days on schedule afterword.

Or just have a gentle spa session, but hold off certain procedures on the expectant mamas?

Hmm. Quite the dilemma!

The goats usually react like we've just asked them to bend over and cough........

Meanwhile I spend the entire day whining that I want someone to give me a pedicure!

We just had our "Spa Days" 3 weeks ago. Everyone is due in 2 weeks. They are so funny! Some of them kind of sort of enjoy it but others are boogers.
So yeah we try to get it done about a month before kidding.

Massages Alice? Sheesh!. A couple of my girls give me that look, lumbers over & leans into me.
"Give that massage NOW Servant. No you're not done yet."
"OOh, here she is while my sister gets her butt & shoulders done I can just rub my face all over hers."
Then one of the LGDs weasels in I hate my face being licked! o
