Buck behavior

Ok yeah Cletus got out of his buck pen today. Titan my roo let me know. So he is chasing Sugarbaby around like there is no tomorrow, blubbering at her the whole nine yards and she keeps running from him. I thought she was bred due this month well guessed not since she isnt showing signs of pending baby, but he was with her for 2 weeks before and they all settled down and right now he is going nuts and Sugar is not acting like she wants any?? Would he be trying her if she wasnt in heat?

Yes. Bucks are insane.

But, just in case she's NOT, a month together is better than two weeks.

Thanks Alice that made my day lol. Having a sane Buck would worry me more I think than having a smart buck since he got out by unlocking the gate. Oh wait I think I got that backwards...

Our little buck is an escape artist! Sometimes it will take us a couple days to figure it out, then he figures another way!

I don't know how folks run there buck with the doe's year around??? Mine would never get any rest!!!

Ahh cause I was watching for a bit before I put him back up, and Sugar was hiding her body in the wood doghouse and he still managed to squeeze in there and blubber at her. I need to double check but I think Saanen's cycle once a year. Ok no joke my goats have issues Sugarbaby is the lead goat and keeps it I think cause her size and Cletus LUVS Sugarbaby, on the other hand Gypsy was trying to love on Cletus but he only has eyes for the Tall, long legged Sugar and Sugar tries to pretend like he is not there. Meanwhile Gypsy makes doe eyes at him and keeps making tiny little nana noises at him. (Believe Cletus bred Gypsy Nov 26-29)

I have seen this name Cletus so often. Can you post a pic so I can put a face, so to speak, with the name?

I believe Saanens cycle in the fall and winter. Not just once, but every three weeks.
