Goats for draft or packing?

I am intrigued by the idea of training some wheathers for pulling. Has anyone

done it with success?

We have a goat that packs, never tried pulling with the goats. You might want to check out this web site www.workinggoats.com. Hope that helps

My son taught a wether to pull a cart in the Christmas parade last month. He wasn't riding in the cart though, just walking beside him. But I think it is a great use for a wether you just can't butcher.

Thanks for the sites. Very awesome.

I have a wether Lamancha that was intended to be a pack goat. My friend never had the chance to train him. I am going to attempt it but he is quite the goat, not sure how well it will work.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I hear that LaManchas are good for work goats because of size. Is this true?

Talking to a nieghbor today, we started talking about the goats. She brought out some pictures of her goats pulling cart in the 1920's. She told me the story of her dad saying goats can't pull a cart. Well, she did get the 2 milking goats to pull her cart, to her mothers dismay. Then she showed me the picture of her ridding the milk cow.
