copper bolus
I have miniatures and one full size dairy wether. For the dairy wether, I used a weight tape, he's about 140-145lbs. The weight tape is not accurate for miniatures (it said my biggest miniature was 185lbs - My guess is more around 100 lbs) So I'm just doing 'best guesses' and rounding to an even whole or half gram.
I ordered '00' capsules. So far it's taking 1 capsule for my young kids (4 months, 1.5g) 2 capsules for my 100lb goats (4.5g), and 3 for the big wether. (6.5 g). I'm weighing using a triple beam balance that only weighs up to 200g, but increments down to .01 g. I'm thinking I should've ordered larger capsules!
The balling gun I ordered is both too large for my miniatures and too large for the capsules. It's a calf sized bolus gun. I've made my own balling gun by cutting off the tip of a leur lock 6cc syringe. I plan on sealing in the capsule with peanut butter but putting water behind the peanut butter to stimulate a swallowing response.
