Do goats have 'braxton Hicks' contrax?

Just wondering.

Dh told me he saw my goat curling into a 'C' over her belly yesterday a few times in a row.

And last night I saw her do the back stretch 3x in a row.

Tonight.. still waiting... and wondering if I'm just plain losing my marbles

I would think so, as it's all part of preparing for kidding. Good Luck!

I don't know if it would be a braxton type or not.......but they definitely curl up and check out their bellies when they are uncomfortable. And when in true labor, oh yes they curl over and groan at that tummy!

It could also be that she's having a hard time getting things in position, so be there to help.

do you have a due date for her? any goo or ligaments softening?

I guess I'm a bit worried that you might have a stalled labor.

4-6" off-white string on Thursday. (string, NOT stream)
Snotty white goo in her tail on Friday in a yucky wad.
This morning small spot of off-white goob.

I stink at ligs, but this is what I *think* I feel: both are very sunken down, close to whatever is underneath. Left one is a tiny bit harder to feel than right. Neither feels like pencils anymore, but I can feel them since I know what they used to feel like. I'm not sure if they really disappear, or if they are supposed to just blend in with the stuff underneath? If the latter, they are very very close. Have been checking them constantly, and they are definitely a lot lower than they were even on Thursday. Don't really feel 'soft' to me but.. again.. I stink at the lig checking.

Her birth last year was very easy- hadn't even seen a sign of labor as of 6:30am. At 10am barn check, her baby was on the ground and almost dry. Then again, I was very distracted by a different doe at the time, so I won't pretend I was fresh and at my best.

Last possible due date is today

Yes, goats and any other animals that have live birth can experience braxton hicks type contractions. And just like in humans the intensity can vary greatly.
