all glass double boiler

DW wants an entirely glass double boiler for x-mas for pasturizing goat milk.

I've searched the internet using Bing and Google, and can't seem to find anything that is safe for use on an electric range.

Any ideas?

Pyrex? Had one years ago, sold in yard sale for a buck. Hated it, heavy and hard to clean

I looked into Pyrex. I have found some antique all glass double boilers, but they indicate that they are for use with gas flame heat sources only. They specifically warn that use on an electric range can cause breakage.

Buy a stand alone single propane burner to go with it.

Set it up in an outside space so it's not taking up room in the kitchen.

Other suggestion:
Stainless steel

Another suggestion:
Rather than a double boiler, what I do is have a heavy cast iron diffuser under my best two gallon stainless pot. That way, you don't have hot spots that scorch the milk, and it holds heat during the waiting period of pasteurization.

Visionware used to make a all glass double boiler but I don't know if they are in business any more. They are amber colored if you remember them. I googled but onlt found some for sale on ebay. You might be able to fine a new one by checking further.
