A Buncha Spinner Babies

I'm so pleased with the pretty babies. There are seven around here somewhere. In fact, they're ALL OVER THE PLACE. I managed to snap a group of five.

Makes you wonder how the mom's can tell them apart! And if they know who each other are? (is?)

Did all seven end up with the frosted ears?

They are so cute - can hardly wait for them to start showing up here in a few months.

Spinner is the sire. Can you see where all the black & white comes from?

*blush* I had to look up "sundgau". It has always been my favorite coloring, and now I know what it IS!

I know, aren't sundgaus gorgeous?!? I have a couple miniatures with sundgau pattern, and one of them even is a sundgau agouti, so it has a salt and pepper look to it, too. I LOVE it.

Your little kids are CUTE cute cute.

mygoat, I LOVE the little sundgau in your signature line, with the "C" in its coat! How clever to use her as the Capital C in your farm name.

I never heard the term "sundagau" before either. It looks like that color description is just for French Alpines as I didn't see it listed for Nigerians on the AGS breed standard page.

I have some Niggie doelings to register that would qualify as "sundagau" - might have to try writing that as a description when I send the papers in and see if it is accepted.

He was actually not a sundgau, he's a black with a star. But his color blew my mind when I pulled that kid from his dam - he was BIG and got stuck - it was the year, if I recall, I decided to call my farm Caprice Acres. I took it as a sign I made a good choice. Wish I still had him. He came back BL for CAE when my dairy does came back positive, so I just decided to butcher him and the other wether I had at the time who was also BL instead of retesting him.

I'm sorry you lost your boy. It's a heartache that doesn't heal easily.

I know what you mean about all the babies looking alike. I'm still having a hard time telling 'em all apart from each other! I just LOVE all the black & white!
