Can you use electro tape for goats?

Any one ever used this? I got a roll and my husband said will it work for goats? The instruction say horse and sheep use. Does that include goats because of the sheep? I don't want to open it only to find it won't work

No, it won't.

Get electric net fencing if you need something light and portable.

I used electro tape for my very large Boer buck and he never challenged it. I ran 4 strands with step-in posts. Now honestly I don't think I'd actually advise someone to build a buck pen like that but in my case, it worked fine. It was working for my Nigerian bucks until the youngest one decided to run through it so I'm rebuilding with panels.
My friend uses the 1" electric tape for her 2 ND bucks, they don't go near it.

We have five strand electric tape for our horses. We put the goats in one section of it one day and they walked right through it. I wouldn't count on it to hold them.

the tape and strands worked terrible for me for horses and horses are easy to keep in with electric. I have a significant amount of electric up now for the goats, both steel and aluminum wire and it gives quite a whack when you touch it (ouch! I know) I have quite a few of the younger goats that run right through it. the aussie is what keeps them in electric in general is not the best option and the tape and strands are even worse imo.

I have always used electric for my goats and they have never gotten out.
You need to have a good charger with at least 8,000 volts running through the fence,
check it with a voltage tester to be sure and
they need to be trained to respect the fence, you cant just throw the goats out in it that have never been in electric and expect them to stay.
I trained the does to respect the fence when they were kids and now they teach there kids to stay away from the fence.

I agree with becca. Ihave use the tape fence for my horse thengot goats and they did fine with it... never got out. that was three strand.
I had on paddoc that I put them in that was hilly so I added a stand of plain wire under that.
I have a paddoc this year that will only have 2 stands of tape. So far so good, bt I always show them the fence and temp them to get zapped 1st.
