Gretta at 145

Well She made it! Gretta is at day 145 and all looks well.
( this is in reference to her looking like she may go into labor 3 weeks ago.)

Her udder isnt quite there yet so I am thinking still a few days away. This is her 2nd time.

I mentioned on another thread that a couple of mine had udder development and milk dropping as much as 2 months early. However, I have one at least that waits till the very last minute. This is not a good sign to watch for on my one particular goat. Good luck. Hopefully it will be when you are home, but not during your 8 hr beauty sleep time. (Sandra)

Thats correct! I didnt have a date last time, and this time its been much less worrisome.

Have yall noticed a difference in first and second kiddings? As far as time frame for udder development?
Gretta has done things differently this time around. I just wonder if she will get that huge bursting udder in the 48 hrs prior like she did last time.

Can you post other photos of her so I can see her udder.

My wife is wanting to get a few milk goats next year if we can get a few other CC paid off. So we can add other fencing...

What breed is your lady goat? n do you milk?

Thanks

Good Luck on your goat. Joe-n-Glo

If I were you, I'd move my blanket and pillow to the barn. Bring a flashlight.

Holy Cow, she's huge! Does she have any goo yet, If she's not lost the mucus plug yet you probly don't have to do the every 2 hour thing.
Hard to tell for sure though. Each goat is so different for me here. I usually can tell on my older girls I've had for a few years but I had a first freshener this year not show any of the usual symptoms of labor, every day I checked her & had a date too. I took care of everyone about 8 p.m. she was fine, nothing unusual or abnormal, went out bu 8 a.m. the next a.m. & there were triplets already done!
Good luck! I bet tomarrow too!

Hehe thanks yall. She is at day 147. This is her second kidding. She has lost her plug. It came out 2 different days in huge amounts. I have her on camera in the house and online so my friends can help watch. She has one big buckling last time. but she was bred to a full boer last time. This time she is bred to a nigerian dwarf. Hopes fort smaller kids.
