Scared please help
My Dh is gone out of town he had to leave just a few mins ago and we hadn't checked in on the goats in a while. Well my goat is hanging to herself an there is like a goo coming out of her. Does this mean it getting close time for baby to be born?
I'm going to see if can get ahold of friend to come over if not will have to handle this on me own. Found our old camera will post photos as soon can get off camera. Please tell me what this means when gets photos up.
What do I need to have on hand. I've got some goat stuff just wasn't ready for the babe to get here just yet an here it is raining today..

I bet babies are going to be coming soon! But don't panic- goats have been kidding for a very long time, and most likely you will have no problems.
Just be sure mom is in a warm dry place to kid, and be there *in case* something goes wrong. Have iodine to dip the naval in, and some warm water with molasses for mom.
You could also try to feel her ligaments-those are two muscly string-like things (sorry, I can't think of a better description) on either side of her tail. If you can't feel them, she will kid soon.
I'm sure some more experienced people will chime in soon with more advice!

Go to http://fiascofarm.com/. They have an excellent section on kidding, with photos and descriptions of what to watch for.
Most goats kid unassisted - it's good to be there just in case. If it's a first time mother, you might need to help her get the sac off of the kid's face, so it can breathe right away.

I've moved her into a stall but when got the photo took she was outside in a different pen. Gosh I'm scared to death an neverous..OH BOY. Got to start digging out more stuff off shelf for baby or babies but she looks to have one.
Why Why does it happen when DH is gone..
Just starting looks like.
Is this anything to worry about?

She's certainly getting close. Go to the link I gave you, read up on birthing, and take a deep breath! She could be an hour away, it could be tomorrow or three days from now.
Just keep a close eye on her - if you see a lot of discharge, or a bubble pushing out, then it's all systems go.

pookshollow I will calm down and read the link you gave me. This is almost exciting me getting ready to have a baby.
I will check back in later to let everyone know how things are going. I pray it goes easy. This is first time for us. Not for the doe.

We'll need pictures, you know!
If it's not the doe's first time, she should be fine.
I'll be checking in.

That looks like the plug let loose. With mine she kidded a full week after that happened. How is she acting? Is she pressing her head on anything or pawing in the dirt? Getting up and down a lot?
I'm sure it will all be fine...I know how scary and exciting it is. That Fiasfarm site really helped me a lot. I was home a lone for my first kidding too The people here can help you through the whole thing too...so keep us posted on what's going on.

Waiting for a kidding to happen can make you slightly nuts - especially if its your first time (or your third or fourth... )
Another site that has some great info on kidding is http://www.cornerstonefarm.net/kidding.html the info is specifically related to Nigerian Dwarf goats - but is good info overall and they have some great pictures.

The goo has stopped for right now but I felt for the baby an the baby kicked my hand of what can feel the head was turned like suppose. Guess I felt the head in here belly but I know for sure felt a hoof. She hasn't started pawing no groundjyet but in her little house alone away from others. She is talking a little more an being more loving toward me. She's a little wild but now she getting more closer to me. Was going to fix supper but order KFC instead so can be on call tonight for my little goat.
Boy she pees a lot LOL..
Will keep everyone updated on what happens.

Hubby should be home around 10pm tonight. I can't wait for him to get home. It is lonely without him. The kids are gone to friends so I can keep watch on the little lady.

Hope you get to see the birth - it is always so amazing to watch - and that all goes smoothly.

We got her in a stall that I can turn the barn lights on if need to be. Got her plenty of drinking water with fresh straw an grass to eat. It seems to me that her breathing is getting a little more faster but not much. She wants me to pet her a lot more. She usually wants me to be away from her but not now. She's turning into nothing but a pet now not a witch...
Done got the iodine, something to tie navel with, goat drench, molasses, towels, nose bulb and flashlight all ready. Me guess water or cokes in to get cold. Trying to think if there is anything else I need. HUMMM??Thinking???

You will not have to tie the navel - just dip it into the iodine. After she gives birth give her a bucket of warm water with the molasses in it. Mine drank a half of gallon in one BIG sip! Maybe she will wait for DH to get home.

Cell phone with emergency numbers...even if it's it just a neighbors number. Make sure the camera is charged and ready. There may be a wax plug on her teats that need to be pulled off if the babies are not getting milk. I didn't need to tie off the cord...just poured iodine in a pill bottle and held it up to their tummy so the attached cord dangled in iodine. I'm just throwing stuff out there that comes to mind. I am so excited for you! I also think she will wait for Dh to come home
OH! Make sure no buckets of water are on the floor...babies drown in those very easily. It happens a lot more than you would think it would.
