Depudding a goat, will the horns grow back?

I just got a new wether goat to go with our lonely goat Lilly, she has horns. But the wether(Rocky) seems to be growing back a horn. I have never had goats that didn't have horns, so I have no clue if this is possible. Thanks.

Yes, it's possible. It's called a scur, and it happens if some of the horn bud tissue didn't get destroyed at disbudding. They're not very strong (scurs) usually, and they tend to get knocked off every now and then. They'll bleed a bit, but it's no big deal, so don't worry if (when!) it happens.

I went to a friend's house today to cut off the end of a scur that was growing into the goat's head. I put the hedge loppers on it, started to close them, and it popped off. Very little attachment.

We popped off the other one, too.

My wether has scurs too. I just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't grow into his head. They are kinda soft and wobbly. If they start to bother him I will cut them off. Congrats on your new goat! What does Lilly think?

I had a boy rip off a scur so I decided to reburn as it was bleeding anyway. What a mess. Bled more and still didn't get the scur, booger grew back.

Thanks everyone, I was a little concerned about the scurs. They are soft and lose, so I won't worry about them. And Lilly is a very happy goat. She has someone to hang out with and talk to.
