New doeling born today

This little doeling was born today. The doe is still pretty big, so I wonder if she might have another, but I've been told Pygmys usually do not have twins until a 3rd kidding. It has been a few hours, so I suppose she must be a single.







We had her in a portable stall on the truck while we got a reg. stall ready for them in two of the photos.

If the doe seems comfortable and not straining, she's probably done Pygmies tend to be built like beer-barrels on legs at the best of times, so I wouldn't expect her to be svelte!

I have a Nigerian Dwarf doe, very big-bodied, that had twins this summer. She still looks like she's carrying triplets.

Yes, it has been a long time, so I think she is done. The doeling is much cuter now that she is fluffy and dry - of course!

I used to have Pygmies & I had FF have twins on 2nd kiddings before. We have Nigerians Dwarfs now for the last few years & had 2 FF have triplets. I think it depends mostly on the goat itself & there condition, etc. but I am no expert by far.
