Eating bucks?

I was given 2 bucks they are boer cross and look to be 2 or 3 years old. Would they be ok to eat? Would they taste good? Or should they go to the sale. Thanks

This time of year is the beginning of the rut season. I would not eat an intact buck now.
Best to eat them out of season 30 days before it starts or 30 days after its ended. All through the rest of the off season is fine but near and in rut they have hormones surging and we can smell it while the meat cooks and when its eaten we can taste the buckiness. Yuk

So if no where near rut its ok.
In rut is nasty.

Best yet, wethers and does!
No worry what their hormones are up too.
