Brown is usually nothing more than dead blood. When I see anything weird at all, I always put them up on the milkstand, clean them off and go in with a gloved hand and see what exactly is coming out...once oxygenated, especially because boers aren't shaved up like dairy goats who are milked, lochia in hair can smell like death when it's not a uterine infection at all. It would also give you the perfect time to take her temp, which no milk and a temp is your signs of uterine infection (or if the stuff coming from the vagina you pull out on your gloved hand has a bad odor to it).
