Two billy goats gruff

If I don't mind not knowing which buck serviced my does, will it hurt anything if I run two bucks in with the ladies this fall during breeding season?

I honestly don't care who fathers the kids, I just don't want there to be dangerous fighting going on and have someone get injured.

Thanks!
April

how large is the pasture how many does do you have and are the bucks already liveing togather?

if you have a large enough pasture and alot of does yes multiple bucks can get along in the herd, they will sort out their social dominance, they may even devide the herd up amung themself,

if you only have a few does and a small area i wouldnt do it,

Another thing to consider - Do they have big dangerous horns?

I agree with KSALguy - a large space and having enough does will determine whether or not they can get along together. I would also watch them closely to see how aggressive they are with eachother. If you fear one is going to be hurt, separate him quickly.

It's 10 does in that particular herd on 8 acres. The two bucks are already living together, but I'm guessing that won't mean much when they're competing for chicks.

I can probably just give it a try and separate if it looks like it'll be bad.

The reason that I want to do this is that one of the bucks I'm using may be too young to get the job done, but I'd like to see how the girls accept him before I decide if I'm going to keep him or sell him.

Thanks, folks!

You'll never be able to improve your breeding program if you know know who sired what. And if you keep anything, you won't know who to breed her to next year if you still have the same bucks.
