About Betty

I am just so confused about my boer mix Betty. She still has me spinning in circles. My buck follows her around everywhere blubbering away. She just will not breed. The buck only follows Betty, not the other does that I know are bred. To me, this signals she isnt bred. Maybe I am wrong. I have never seen her breed, never even seen her interested in the buck at all.
She is at least 10-12 months old. She is smaller, she stands about 20-24 inches at the shoulder and we weighed her she is 61 lbs. She has always been wormed and eats very well. I really want to keep her but can not justify keeping a doe that will not produce. Is there anything I can do to get her to breed or cycle?

Here are pics from today.

I wouldn't even try breeding her until she was at least 80-90 pounds. You might try giving her a dose of Valbazen for Tapeworms. She looks a little pot-bellied and not as thrifty as she could be. I had one look like that and she was loaded with tapes.

I'd give her more time to grow she just isnt big enough yet.:baby04: What's she crossed with? Even if she's part Nubian she needs to be bigger.

deetu... do you mean you want a pic of her vulva?
Kim...Thanks, please explain what you mean by not as thrifty...She is very active, she has been treated for worms. Her berries do not look to have tapes and I am very strict on my deworming program as my mini horses are in with my goats..Also is that valbazen ok if she is secretly bred?( just in case that pot belly is a kid or 2)
goat servant... her mom was a 50/50 nubian boer and her sire was a full boer. I am not sure why she is so small. But at about 11 months I would expect her to be much bigger. However she was a twin with a buck as a sibling and has always been small.

I really appreciate yalls help!

No valbazen for her if preggo.
Her udder looks normal to me for a Boer cross.

Well, with her belly as large as it is compared to the rest of her, if that's a baby-belly, I would think she'd have a little more udder than the photo shows. And for a 75% Boer, she should be more filled in with muscle and her bone structure is very visable. So while she doesn't really look unthrifty, she doesn't look as good as she could. I don't mean any of this to be insulting either, just trying to help!
What is your deworming program, what worms was she treated for? Many believe that regular deworming can be more harmful due to resistance build-up. Also some dewormers only work on certian parasites. And no, if she is pregnant, I wouldn't use Valbazen right now. You can send in a blood sample to BioTracking to see if she is bred. I think it's only like $7.(?).

she looks healthy but is small for her age. i don't think the muscleing thing can be changed, that is just genes. your buck might just like her she may be the only one that tolerates his antics. pull blood and find out if she is pregnant. bio tracking web site has all the info on how to do it.

DO A FECAL ON HER BEFORE YOU TREAT HER FOR WORMS. How on earth do you know what to treat for if you do not know?
I think she is telling you she is just a little to small. I would give her more time to get a little bigger before you try to bred her. She is sure a cutie.
