Alfalfa pellets and cubes

Does anyone feed these instead of hay?
If so, how?

I use alfalfa pellets, I use to use cubes but had to soak them in water so the goats would not choke on them.

I also feed hay just to keep the occupied.

I feed only pellets - they have browse of one sort or another available year round. I just put the pellets in their feeders - twice a day in the winter if it is really cold. Otherwise at the end of the day. Oh and they get pellets on the milk stand if they are milking as well. No other grain in their ration at this point in time.

I tried clover pellets last winter - but the goats didn't seem to care for them. Wish they would eat them since clover is almost $3 a bag cheaper than alfalfa pellets.

Clover/Grass seed pellets: 16% protein, 4% fat, 20% fiber
Alfalfa pellets: Protein not less than 15%, Fat not less than 1%, Fiber not less than 35%

Same as above, but I do keep grass hay in feeders for rainy days, and we live in the woods so lots of browse. If you want to email me I have photos of my feeders that hold alfalfa pellets. Hog feeders or dog feeders for kibble also work excellent. With my alfalfa pellets 17% minimum I also don't have to use another form of protein in my grain when they are milking...so no soy or cottonseed meal or fish and feather meal Vicki

I feed hay and pellets because they enjoy the reg. hay so much. I do the same with my horses.

Yes, pellets. Unfortunately, my goats prefer ONE brand that is available only in Texas.
