She is more expensive then the other estimates but I do trust her more then the other vets I spoke to.Course anything can happen. They are going to call me when he wakens. Poor lil man was snuggling me at the vets/ Positive thoughts please for his surgury going well. and I know..some BBQ sauce would have been alot cheaper,,,,,,,,:baby04:

I sure everything works out & he's fine when he wakes up & he'll probly learn quickly how to get around, just hope the other bigger goats don't beat him up too bad because it seems for sure he'll be slower with 1 less leg. Poor little guy he'll be sore for quite awhile I'd imagine too.

That's wonderful he made it and it doing good! I'm sure he'll learn real quick how to get along on three legs. He's probably been doing it mostly anyways since its been hurt.

Does he have a home yet? We are keeping a wether this year, first one we've ever really kept, and I guess he'll just live with the does. He is the most pathetic goat you have every seen, and wants to still be carried and held (he's about 3 months old, a Nubian). He was born with a bad leg and half the size of his sisters, now he's a giant baby, even though he's caught up and learned to walk within about a week. He's the 4 year old's goat and she loves him a little too much, she takes him on daily walks, and snuggles with him. I guess he's ours now

that was some much needed humor. Today was a hard day. I am glad its done. When i droppped the lil guy off he snuggled into my neck. When I picked him up he snuggled into my neck.I felt so much guilt when I saw his lil stump. I had to go out and have a lil cry in my car.I j ust don't know how I could have taken him so far..from deaths grip just to allow this to happen, I felt so bad..and responsible. Lesson learned for sure...I will NEVER get careless with a wrap again. I surely hope someone reads this post someday..and maybe my experience will help someone else.I would be happy to share how I saved him if anyone is ever in need. AND I will share my mistake and how I created a 3 legged goat. thanks again guys you have been wonderful and your support most appreciated.

I have never dealt with a three legged goat before, but I did bottle raise a three legged black lab pup. The mom chewed her leg off instead of the cord. She never knew any different, and lived a long happy life.

I am sure he will soon figure out how to get around, and never know any different either. How high did they take it? Above the knee? Don't get down on yourself please. You learned and others have too. He will be fine after he heals. Kudos to you.

yes well above the knee. she did not want him to try and use it at all.said there would be constant skin breakdown etc, my friend s dog was amputated at same place...same level of amputation and is doing great, so i belive he will be fine. He is definetly an amputee tho. no mistaking it

Maybe less leg will be less weight to balance around with and less weight on the one leg now.
