What % is goat yogurt?

Just out of curiosity, about what percent fat would homemade whole goat milk yogurt come in at?
I've been considering dairy goats. And I eat a lot of yogurt (2-4%) and accidentally bought a 10%, and finding its just too rich.
And I don't have any time to start separating mechanically, just doesn't fit into my schedule.

Thanks!

Where did you find a 10% milkfat yogurt? It must have some added cream or something?

I'm guessing homemade goat yogurt would be whatever whole goat's milk is... it ranges from 3.5% to 6% depending on the breed of goat and what you feed. I don't imagine it would be anywhere near 10%. I eat a lot of whole goat's milk yogurt now that I have a dairy goat, and I've never found it too rich.

Yes the ingredients say milk and cream, among several other things. Just from the grocery store, brand is Liberte.

3.5 to 6% sounds fine.
I'll assume 3.5 is not quite as good as 6% for cheese?

Diet aside, what breed would have a lower percent milk, and what may have a higher?

Thanks for all of this!

The above chart shows lots of comparison info with goat, cow, and human milk. "Lipid" is the fat content.

Nubians and Nigerian Dwarfs are supposed to have the highest butterfat. The Swiss breeds (Alpine, Saanen, etc) generally make more milk but the butterfat is lower. Though a lot depends on the particular bloodlines, I suppose.
