Who has ate a pygmy?

I went to get a couple of them to clean up our goat lot since we sold out of goats. I ended up with 5 weathers. I have never ate goat but have butchered alot of deer. So would you guys eat a couple? They are 2 to 3 months old. When should I do it? I figured if any good it should make some cheap meat and help fill the freezer. Thanks for any info.

I ate 3! They were delicious. They were full grown, two does and a buck. They were very easy to dress out.

We used to have pygmies when we first stared out in goats & we had 2 wethers butchered at about 9 months of age & a full grown one also. We really like the meat although we don't have any pygmies anymore.

You can eat any goat but pygmies are actually a meat breed.

Pygmies make excellent meat animals. Though the pet trade has mostly commandeered them, they make excellent homesteading animals especially for smaller lots. They butcher out an excellent 50% plus, though I personally wait until they are several months old so they're a bit bigger. I dam raise all bucklings and wether those that I don't want to keep intact so that they can stay on their dams for 4+ months to improve growth.
