milk dried up

we have been milking her for around 2 months now. She lost her kid in a horse accident before we bought her so we milk her 2-3 times a day. The last 2 days she has slacked off a lot in production. She hasn't been eating like she normally does and pooh seems quite runny compared to her norm. Any advice? We kinda need the milk. is she done? Do i need to get another doe for the milk?

I see that this is your first post. Welcome to the board!

Does your doe have a fever? Take her temperature.

What is your deworming shedule?

What are you feeding her?

Do you think she is in heat?

She sounds like she's ill. They'll drop their milk production quickly when sick. Runny poop and being off feed is definitely signs something is wrong. Goats love their grain and their poop should always be "berries" that fall separately once they come out of their rear ends.

If you are new and can afford it, I would get a vet out to see her. If not, look at the sticky about medical issues and pre-answer all those questions on the board here. Keep bumping until you get help. There is a wealth of knowledge on this board.

Welcome and sorry that you're having trouble.
