MiniMancha ears

The Good Neighbor's ND's had MiniMancha babies. All does, BUT ALL FOUR have airplane ears.... Those ears are just hard to get used to

What gives?? No gopher ears..NOT EVEN elf ears.

Alice, I saw your calico MiniMancha GEORGOUS buckling... on the other thread. Thanks for posting the pix.

Of the Mini Mancha's that I've bred I'd say 80% have Mancha nubbies and the other 20 % Nigie ears.

Hi Paul, of the four babies. Did the bucks get ears also? Of my five babies the three girls have ears and the two boys are gopher eared. and Alice's babies are boys with no ears. Just wondering if boys have a higher chance of being earless.

Hi Laverne. No bucklings. :banana02: Four kids, four does... hehe

This could make ya wonder, eh? Three-colored cats and gender are connected..... However, it sure would be unlikely that ear and gender are connected - close to not a chance.

The original Mini-Manchas are Nigerian Dwarf/LaMancha cross, but they have their own registry now, and they are breeding Mini-Mancha to Mini-Mancha.

Yes they are registrable.

About genetics.....
I have an old LaMancha doe that we bred to a Saanen buck. The kids were born yesterday, and they are pure white, but with LaMancha ears. Dominance of two different breeds, combined. Fascinating.
