I don't think anti-biotics are needed just for one finger. That doesn't sound very invasive at all so she should be ok. Just my opinion and I don't have the experience others do with kidding. SO hopefully more will chime in...Backfourty??

Even using a whole hand or arm up to my elbow, I rarely give antibiotics afterwards. She will flush out everything with the placentas. The only time I give antibiotics is when I worked in there a long time, or I couldn't wash up beforehand(we have no water at our place so washing up with a jug can be difficult by yourself), or if the kids are dead when born.
One finger?? I wouldn't.

I agree with Emily as I dont give antibiotics unless I have been in there a while with a trainwreck and then I give pen for 5 days. Other than that I dont do it as its not necessary.1 finger got washed out with the afterbirth...no need to worry.
