Goat with bloody head.

Hello everyone-

I have been re-arranging my goats and I have two girls that seem to
hate each other. They have been butting heads and won't leave each other
alone.
The one goat has pretty sturdy scurs. Today she was headbutting so hard
They came off and there are just a bloody stumps on her head.
It is like a sleeve of horn came off.
Will her horn grow back - or do you think it will stay short?
Is there anything special I should do for her?
Thanks
~ali
Ps here are her before and after pictures:

My buck that was disbudded does the same thing with his wethered buddy & his scurs do the same thing. They seem to grow like another cap & then do it again when they play to much. Usually mine do that mostly when the girls are in heat.
I do put Furall on his bloody stumps or something similar to keep the flies off especially this time of year but they should be fine. Watch them, but mine are always fine.
They will probly work things out & be best buddies in a few weeks.

LOL! Too funny

My goats have much smaller scurs, but when they knock them off, I usually just put some blood-stop on them.

If you want to get rid of the scurs for good, take this opportunity to reburn them. With the horn casing off, the remaining bud should burn down/off easily. The hardest part is restraining them safely. A little banamine or local lidocaine helps their comfort level afterward (I give the banamine about 30 minutes beforehand to give it time to kick in).

OUCH. Sorry I have nothing to offer because all my goats have horns. It just looks painful.

Do you think they are trying to set the dominance in the herd?
