Two goats that are lonely????

We bought two 4 1/2 month old goats; one wether and one doe. They have always been together and we keep them together when we tie them up to graze in different areas of our property. They were skittish when we bought them but they have warmed up to us fast and they are now like little dogs wanting attention. The wether bawls when we go outside and he can see us and will keep it up for hours. The doe starts in but quiets down when she can't see us anymore. We have had them for two weeks. Is this normal? They are healthy and the person we bought them from said that sometimes they will just bawl for no reason???

We did have the previous owners goats on our property when his goat barn was taken out by a tornado for a few months and none of the goats did it then?

i actually had the same question cause my girls do the same thing... the moment they hear us outside they are crying trying to find us and they keep it up as long as we are outside or if they can hear us in the house....

This is completely normal goat behavior As I recall someone mentioning in one of the earlier posts.... If you don't hear them... there might be a problem. Mine will even start if they me me looking out the window....

Ok I won't worry. They seem so sad and pathetic out there! I didn't know if they missed their goat friends or just wanted us to be out there with them!

Yes. They miss their friends AND they want you to come out and play.

I suspect this is a common occurrence with goat lovers.

A funny story: I had a Nubian doe who was so bonded with humans that all she wanted was to be near me, laying beside me when I sat amongst the shade trees while the small herd grazed & even sleeping with her head in my lap. At first I had nothing but a small leanto for them (no parameter fencing around our place & many stray dogs to watch out for) & had to keep all 3 on a leash when I was not outside. At the time of this funny incident I had a man on top of the barn I was building who saw & heard what occurred. He told me this: That doe was yelling for me and getting louder and louder when I did not come out of the house. She accidentally pushed over her water bucket, looked down at where it had been spilled, then raised her voice even louder as she looked at the trailer where I was. The thought that came to that construction worker's mind at that time was, "Now, see what you made me do!" rofl
