Pack Goats?

When is a good age for a whether to be able to go backpacking? And where can I get a pack for my goat? Should I consider making one? How much weight should they carry...? I have heard anywhere from 10-35% of their body weight.

Packgoats can carry up to 25% of their weight if they are in the right condition at 3 years of age. There are several groups on the internet... the first two are some that I am with here locally.... There are links to gear on some of these....

Why is it 3 years old? Don't they mature sooner?
