Rate My Goat

Hey, I thought that it would be cool to have a thread where we could 'rate' goats (1-10 scale) based on what they are judged for at shows (Udder, straightness from hook to the pins, muscle if it's a meat goat, etc)

SO I'm going to post pictures of my two freshened does (my other 3 are kids still) They are both pure breed LaMancha does and registered.

Kadabra:

Udder (12 hours since last milking):

Abra:

Full Body (she was kind of standing funny):

Udder (I'm not milking this one, her kids are still on her, but when it's full it's larger then Kadabras)

They haven't been shaved yet, that's planned for Monday. You can also post a few pics of your goats to be 'rated'

I really don't know a lot about how to rate a goat as far as show's go, but they both look like they would be easy milkers.

They are both nice goats with good potential. The one thing I would work on with the first doe is feet- tight toes on feet that point straight ahead. They are beautiful girls!

And, if you can get it, a buck who will also improve rear leg angulation. I don't know if you know of anyone does A.I., but if they will let you store semen and help you A.I. your does in exchange for say, a little help around the farm or something like that, you could have a kick *** herd in no time.

Thanks, I *might* be getting a buckling with grand champion bloodlines for free. I'm thinking if I get him I could get at least a reserve champion doe!

I like Abra for many reasons, all connected with milking. She has a great barrel, nice sized teats that are well placed and not too steep in the rump with a level topline.
Kadabra has a beautiful udder, up high and looks like great teats too. She also has a nice level topline. Both are lovely does, congratulations.

What are the ages on these does?

Remember, just because a buck has champion lines does not mean he will pass that onto his daughters.

(ps. The adga has a program as you think LA which gives a overall score and breaks that down into traits from a 1-9)

Patty.

They are both 2 years old, and have kidded twice.
